Sambar—helmed by Chef Nicco Santos and Chef Quenee Vilar involved a great deal of visual identity development. This was an extensive project spanning from 2021–2023. From its infancy to its latest pop-up, I took an illustrative approach that mirrored Sambar’s essence: playful but never childish, distinct yet deeply rooted—much like their Peranakan-inspired cuisine.

This was a collaboration with The Coconut Club (Singapore) featuring Chef Daniel Sia. Custom typography was made for the whole experience.

These were the packaging labels created for the takeout boxes. This acid yellow has been a distinctive part of their identity in its early stages of development.

The brand has evolved through the years while retaining the same fluidity and energy. In the past, Café Aurora was linked to Chefs Nicco and Quenee, leading to a collaboration that brought the Sambar pop-up within its restaurant space.
