Elastic Homes

Project Duration:

2025

Over time, the idea of home has become less of a place and more of a shifting idea—shaped by what I carry and leave behind.

This map merges Luyos [Nueva Ecija], Pasay, Parañaque, Makati, and Hong Kong into a singular imagined geography, reflecting the thresholds I’ve crossed and the spaces I’ve shaped.

Elastic Homes was exhibited in Balay Kōbō last January 2025.

First edition production specs: print on 190gsm paper, at 420mm x 297mm

Accompanied by a loupe and a portable folding file collection of ephemera pieces from my time in Hong Kong, the piece invites viewers to explore the intimate details of the journey.

A cozy interior featuring a wooden ceiling and soft lighting, with a glowing neon sign on the wall. A sign of "The Underbelly" logo is beneath it.

While the map strays from traditional cartography, I incorporated elements of real geography by stitching together fragments from Google Maps. Street names and highways remain visible, but the emphasis and scale are intentionally distorted—shaped by personal significance rather than strict accuracy.
