Weddings

Project Duration:

2023-2024

It is a truth universally acknowledged that Filipinos love a good celebration. As a country with a rich history and a mix of diverse cultures, there is no shortage of fiestas and festivities that are always happening at every turn of the street. But out of all of these events, there is one major occasion that gets people the most excited: weddings.

There is nothing more delightful than witnessing the love between two people and being a part of the shared journey they are going to embark on together. As such, many couples want the aesthetic of their wedding to reflect their unique love story and their individual personalities. For these projects, working closely with each client to make the ideal design was essential.

2023, Ella and Enrique

Ella Pangilinan wanted the visual identity of her wedding to symbolize her and Enrique’s personal stories and shared values. Working closely with her, the couple's faith, family, and Filipino-Spanish culture were woven into every detail of the visual language and strategy of the event.

Ella Pangilinan wanted the visual identity of her wedding to symbolize her and Enrique’s personal stories and shared values. Working closely with her, the couple's faith, family, and Filipino-Spanish culture were woven into every detail of the visual language and strategy of the event.

Extensive research was done to curate the mood and key visuals for the event, which were designed to be playful, colorful, and distinctly Filipino while retaining an ambience of elegance and refinement. These were then compiled into a brandbook that was sent to all of the wedding suppliers in order to streamline the colors, typography, and overall direction of the entire ceremony.

The principal wordmark was inspired by Ella’s love for Letras y Figuras. The illustrated elements take notes from Ella and Enrique’s personalities, which feature a mix of traditional Filipino motifs, vegetables in the Bahay Kubo song, and an overall nostalgic and warm presence throughout the whole monogram. Many of the illustrations were further adapted into various design elements that were used throughout the whole event, such as the signage, table cards, and the couple's book of vows.

2024, Tiara and Josh

Tiara and Josh wanted custom ask cards that were fun and playful, yet simple and cost-effective. Inspired by vintage, old-school Italian sardine packaging, the illustration featured a bright, cheerful color palette with cheeky hand-drawn elements.

The artwork was then carefully hand-cut and assembled with a faux illustrated pull tab, then slipped into cut-out envelopes that mimicked sardine tins. The final piece ended up being a charming and interactive design that carried a special heartfelt message to cherished friends.
